Headphones for music watching film & gaming ???

I'm quite happy with my Sennheiser PC163D - I agree with -Ad- tho get some proper headphones if you can afford it - tho I have a pair of HD600 I've only used them for music for gaming and movies (when not using speakers) I'd been using various sets of plantronic, creative, logitech, steelseries, etc. etc. upgrading to a pair of sennheisers for gaming/movies made me realise just how much detail, depth, etc. I'd been missing using cheapy headphones.

Using goldring ns1000's here, very impressed with them, particularly for watching films on blu ray. Used to use an old set of speedlink medusa's, difference with the ns1000's is like night and day. They can be bought for around £50-60.00, a lot cheaper than they normally retail at.

I'm with him I have set of dr50 and they are amazing, but make sure if you haven't replaced stock audio card that you do, it makes an immense difference.
I havn't got a sound card mate. Do i really need a sound card ? i'm useing a Evga sli le x58 mobo ? right i'm going to buy these headphones tonight which ones out of the list do i buy ? Cheers ALL for your help and suggestions. dan

They run without sound cards, just the quality is nothing near as good as could be, i ran it without sound card for about a month, got myself one of them x-fi sound cards and the difference was absolutely amazing.

Motherboard sound is always rather flat, and not too good at headphone virtualisation (tries treating them like tiny headphones, which doesn't give much 3d depth at all, kind of sounds like everything is from a mile in front of you.)

If you want for film and gaming you obviously want to feel like your in the film or in the game, it adds to the experience.
