Look at what I just spotted on AT

These are so rare in manual, this one looks half decent from the pictures, although it does not say how many owners it's had and it does not mention service history. Well anyway, I thought I'd bring your collective attention to it, I bet you could knock that price down a bit though.

I was looking for one of these before I bought the ST220, I'd still like one for some reason, not that I would buy one now though, well maybe for half that price I might but not likely. I noticed a silver one on AT too, two 540i Sport manuals in on day, something is going on there I tell you!

Yea that's the silver one I also saw on AT, arhh I bet loads come up for sale now and make it look like I was talking out of my rear with regards to how hard they are to find.

Wow, nice.

Think I'd rather have an auto 540i though - the heavy lump and the reciculating ball steering make it more of an executive express which lends itself to an autobox.

haha, they're still pretty rare.
what you really want is a manual 740i though

You won't find a manual RHD e38 for love nor money (unless its been converted by a 3rd party) over here.In Europe though, you could get manual e38 725tds, 735i and 740i's although the manual V8's are as rare as hens teeth along with the 750i V12.

The film "The Transporter" famously - in nerdy BMW circles anyway! - uses a manual e38 described in the film as a 750i V12 when in fact it was a 735i V8.
An absurd film, that said, I watched it and decided I wanted - and then bought - an e38 7 Series..... :o :D

As much as say an automatic would not suit an M5, I'd think the same applys to a manual 7 series - its just wrong. :D

Back to the OP, I like that, a lot of car (and fun!) for under £6k.

Definately sounds like they are saying seven thirty five to me when i watched that clip :p

I know, later in the film its referred to as a 750i, but I CBA to find that clip.
Edit, in actual fact I may be arse about face about this, I think it was a manual 750i but referred to as a 735i.

Anyway, they said it was one thing in the dialogue of the film when in fact it was another.... :o :D
