Hi folks,

Just a heads up that if you don't mind buying the matt titanium version, there is an eBay seller doing LS2 Rookie lids for £25.

I've bought 3 different sizes incase people want to jump on the back :)

For the money, unbeatable. Similar weight to my much more expensive main lid (Shoei GT Air), and perfectly acceptable build quality (22.05 and all that)... Pinlock-ready although (not surprisingly) there isn't one included.

Here you go: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LS2-FF352...hash=item51ceae02ff:m:mt8dwGWcMd3AmYYuWC12llw

trust the hogs to have all the medium:(

(shame its not a flip, dont think I could go back to a non flip now)

Don't understand why cheap helmets tend to use buckle systems for the strap instead of D rings? It must be more expensive to manufacture, and most people seem to prefer D rings.

I guess after sewing in the D rings and putting the popper on, D ring is slightly more expensive?

D rings are way better. I'd never buy a helmet with buckle after having D rings. My first helmet had a buckle, was awful!

Tempted to buy one myself for my DAS. Though I'm more eager to get my own gloves. Their gloves made my hands smell revolting.

And just think, you'll have the same sweaty grossness that makes the gloves smell directly on your head which you have to wait until you get home to wash properly :p

I'd get both!

I'd get both!

And this is the reason I've only ever worn my own kit for any training!

I've only ever worn my own kit, I remember going to paintball once and wearing the rank wet paint covered facemasks and oversuits, hated it. When I started airsoft with my own gear, I enjoyed it much more.

That is very true  The helmets didn't seem too bad, not the one I had anyway.

I was going to 'treat' myself to a Shoei X-Spirit 2 or NXR when I eventually pass my DAS. Suppose £25 is hardly bank breaking.

I didn't say in the original post by the way but mine have arrived... It's all above board and they're really impressive for the £££ - Just incase people were going down the "if it looks too good to be true..." route ;)

There are no mechanical parts to fail.... so safer in every way... unless you do it up wrong in which case you're a muppet :P

Or completely forget :/ I've only forgotten once so far and I heard a tapping but didn't know what it was, I assumed the worst and thought there must be fly eggs hatching in my helmet or something but then it stopped so I carried on. I eventually came up to a police road block, I was allowed through because I was going to turn off down a country lane rather than go to the motorway (probably 99% of the roads use). Fortunately the copper didn't write me a ticket (or notice) but as I pulled away it started rattling again and then I worked it out in my head. I felt stupid/lucky. Found somewhere to pull over and did it up.
