***HEADS UP: MSI GTX 580 OC @ £399 Until Midday Monday!!***

well i dont think OCUK realise as why would they still sell it at a higher price surely they would leave it at £399 to clear stock, i think someone at MSI has been a very naughty boy!

i myself have bought this card...due to a delivery ****-up i wont get it till tomorrow now...
i normaly buy evga but when i seen the price/overclock i bought without thought
i,ll test tomorrow and post results

Hi,

I got this card today after seeing it was cheaper over the weekend. As people have been reporting the default settings according to Afterburner (2.1.0 beta 6) are:
Core voltage: 1037
Core clock: 772
Shader clock: 1544
Memory clock: 2004

Which are not the advertised values.

I used Afterburner and changed the following:
Core clock: 821
Shader clock: 1642
Memory clock: 2104

I then ran 3D mark 2011 benchmark which soon showed artefacts and crashed. I then changed the:
Core voltage: 1050
And the benchmark is now OK. I have also run the Heaven benchmark with no problems.

So I am wondering whether the OC BIOS which MSI might be offering also uses these values. It would be good not to have to use Afterburner to keep setting them.

Its getting late so I am going to give up for tonight. I would be great one day to buy a video card and just be able to play games without having to mess around with it first - oh well - we can dream...

according to the msi forums the bios wont be stable as the voltages are not enough to get 825mhz stable so you need to overvolt , unless msi have changed this i dont know.

I think MSI would be in a load of bother if they hadnt told anyone about the cards.

I wouldnt like to say if OcUK knew about it tho, but I have my own thoughts

weird i have yet to get a reply via webnote, im going to make a new one and quote the stock code and see what happens, hopefully by 6pm the batch has been tested and confirmed to be wrong clocks and we can start to process how to sort this out.:o

if anyones reading this the stock code was GX-108-MS and my forum acc is linked to the shop account i ordered from.
