Thinking I might treat myself to a headset for Xmas, so I'm looking for suggestions for something reasonable for up to about £40 Max.

So what's good what's not, and which is best way to go USB vs plug-in. Never bothered with one before so I'm open to suggestions. I game a little, but not hours on end.

The more the merrier...:)

Been having a little look anyway, quite like the look of these two.

1. Plantronics GameCom 377 and that's under £25 quid.
2. Creative Fatal1ty HS-800 which is £36.

Both are std Jack type. I'm only using on board sound so just wondred if there is any advantage in using the USB type.

This has caught my eye, but is a bit more than I wanted to pay. But if USB has any adavantages I'd scrape together an extra £4 ;):)
Plantronics GameCom 777 USB 5.1 £43.99

If anyone actually uses any of these any feedback/comments would be appreciated...

Mate of mine just got the Creative Fatal1ty's and he loves them for the price point. Says they are very good for positional stuff in FPS's, always seems to know when I'm creeping up on him :(
From a Ventrilo/Teamspeak point of view his speech is very clear and crisp

hope this helps :)

They are the ones i have currently, there fine although not very rugged. The mic on them is very flimsy and although ok for the everyday user, after a bit of wear it went very floppy and couldnt keep itself up ... Also the cable near the volume control has starting showing because the plastic covering has ripped.

Go with yours.. your using ... my mate has only just got his set :)

I m going to go for the creative headset, for a gaming point you can't beat them plus it sounds better than most of the price range also, I just got rid of mine for a razor pair, which is far more comfy ( when they were in) and sound better.
