Use intel stock fan if you are not overclocking!
Like many others i cannot fathom why your buying a high end cooler for a cpu that you will run at stock also for a stock cpu your choice of mobo is also overkill.

They're fine.
Motherboards are stronger then people think
plenty of people use large coolers such as the noctua, megahalems and True without issues. The backplates provided are to stop any bending of the board. You'll be fine

There is one reason that's occured to me. A serious case of e-peen swinging![]()

I don't understand your point?
Do you think the processor and stock cooler is designed to run a system @ idle or? . . . Why are you throwing your money £££ away on something you don't need at all? . . . having said that I just noticed what motherboard you are using!
Asus Rampage III Extreme
£309.99 inc
I don't understand why you are buying this specialist high-end kit designed for World-Class benchmarkers and simply running the system at stock? . . .
You should really try and relax . . . there is no problem here except what you are making a problem? . . . if you can explain yourself a bit better then I'm sure we can make all your worries go away and hopefully get you to enjoy this process a bit more!![]()
but the asus rampage III extreme is too beautiful

Agreed on the looks, I sure hope you got a windowed case to put that in.
If you are happy with the knowledge that you could have got similar performance for a lot cheaper and have the money to spare then go for it. It's nice to treat ourselves once in a while.![]()

BTW is there any (mechanical) engineer or engineering student out there ?
