Hello, hello!
Well joined up mostly as I'm hoping to find somewhere active to have a bit of PC based chit chat and knowledge exchange. Been shopping with OCuk for a while but never really come to these forums!
A little about me... I started my PC self build journey with a Shuttle SFF build in the heady socket 939 days and then jumped to a Q6600K G0 stepping that I ran until it wouldn't run anymore. Then took a little break from the world of PC's as I had a PS3 for gaming and a work issue all singing all dancing MacBook Pro. Came back to PC's when the i5-6600K was the chip of choice for a good system built when I started my PhD. Ran that chip with a heavy OC until recently when I saw a X570 motherboard and 3700X for cheap in another forum...
Currently running a Crosshair VIII Hero with a 3700X in it with 32gb of CL16 Corsair ram in it and a dying EVGA 1080 FTW2. Failed to secure a 5800X3d and now going to place an order for a 5700X3D and then upgrade the 1080 to a 7900XTX (really want the Sapphire Nitro+ edition)
In terms of the forum, I'm kinda hoping I can recapture some of the excitement etc of discussing PC hardware that I used to get from being on Bit-Tech when I had my Q6600K. Most of my friends have jumped to being console only gamers now and left behind PC gaming
