Hi. I'm travelling around the USA at the moment, taking a lot of pictures. When I came for me to back them up and upload some to flickr.com there seems to be a problem.

If you look at the pics above, they seem to be squashed up. When I look at the dimensions of the pixels it seems ok but the pics themselves seem squashed. For the normal view like this the dimensions are 500x375 whereas other's are 500x333 (the 3:2 format). This is the same on flickr and my HD however, they look fine when viewed on the screen of the camera.
One theory I have is that it was a linux system I hooked it up to so I could download them and back them up/upload them. Maybe that interfered?
I've got over 600 pics which seem to be squashed up a bit like this. Can't tell with all of them though. So I'd really appreciate some advice on this one
EDIT: I've just changed the res of this screen from 1024x768 to 1280x1024 and I think they look OK now. Would have tried that earlier but this is the 3rd screen I've seen them on and all must have had odd resolutions. What are the chances? I feel a bit stupid now
Someone could confirm they look OK to them though
