Hey guys!

I'm looking to build a rig that will be used mainly for photo editing, but also the occasional gaming (no need to max every game, but decent enough to play), and the usual everyday applications (developing, web surfing etc).
I'm quite sick of having to wait 5 seconds for lightroom to load my image, and another 5 for every minor change i make, so i decided to build a whole pc altogether and just keep this laptop for internet and such.
Oh, and i'm also sick of uncalibrated monitors that show me a perfect photo, but to everyone else, bad. So regarding that, i'd like a properly calibrated monitor. I have a Samsung (led) syncmaster sa300 laying around that i never got to use because my laptop doesn't support that resolution. Would that suffice or would i really need an IPS?

The budget i have available would be around £480. Any suggestions?
oh, ps: i already have a mouse, keyboard, speakers, so that doesn't need to be included.
I also have from my bro's old PC an ATI4850 videocard, and a vantec powersource of 450W, if that is of any help.

Anticipated thanks!

Ah, well, that saved me a hundred quid or so, thanks for that! will use my samsung.
Oh, and i forgot to specify, i have an external 1TB hard disk, so on the computer, i think another 750GB-1TB would suffice

A bit more info on would you can reuse would be helpful. Does the PSU have a 24pin block and the P4/8 connectors too? Can you reuse the case? If so can it take ATX mobos? Is an OS needed?

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £184.99
1 x Gigabyte Z77-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £89.99
1 x Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-Bit - OEM (GFC-02050) £83.99
1 x Intel 330 Series 120GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Hard Drive - Retail **Grand Store Opening Deal** £71.99
1 x Corsair XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX8GX3M2A1600C9) £29.99
Total : £472.34 (includes shipping : £9.50).

You can see the OS eats into the budget a bit :( Lucid MVP on the Z77 mobo can use the i5Ks IGP to boost your old 4850 ;)

Yes, the PSU does have a 24pin block, and the connectors :).
I would also need a case, as i do not currently have one. i only have the monitor, PSU, and the 4850 i could reuse, and an OS isn't needed, as i already have one
Also, i think i'll drop the SSD for the moment, and add one later one if i feel the need for one, just to save some money

if any other information is needed, please let me know
