Help burning dual layer in OSX?

I have been using burn to burn all my CDs and DVDs and not had a problem up until last night when I tried to burn a DVD 9 for my mate. I was burning vob files to a verb disc and it said it had completed but then I couldn't get the disc to eject. Eventually after a lot of messing about it came out but was only part way burnt.

Can the mac burn DVD9 ok?.... I checked my system profile and the drive can handle DL so seems ok on that front. Or is it just the software not being up to it?

Any ideas?

Odd I've never had a problem on either my mac mini or this MBP, and my mate on his old MBP. Try another DL DVD, or maybe the drive doesnt like the brand?
