Hey peeps. My mondeo I think is about due for replacement as too many things seem to be going too often so I am looking at getting some new wheels .

Budget of around 6k and the only 2 real requirements is that it must be at least as quick, or quicker, than my current 2.0l x reg mondeo, and also no more than around 5 years old. I've been thinking of all sorts, ranging from MX-5's to newer (Mk 3) mondeos so really just looking for more opinions on whats out there. I'm NOT mechanically inclined whatsoever so things like old S14's is probably not my scene :p

Thanks for any help!!

MX-5 is a 2 seater roadster with a drop drop. A mondeo is a 4 seater saloon.

These are worlds apart so I think you really need to decide on what are MUST HAVES more than speed and age, what do you need the car for and want it to do?

6k buys you a fair amount, you need some focus :p

Ok perhaps the MX-5 was more of a "that would be a cool option" than practical option. I do need some luggage space as I need some kit that I need to carry most weekends for a 100 mile motorway round trip (the reason I got a mondeo in the first place). So it needs to be happy on the motorway, hence it being at least as fast as my current car.

skoda octavia diesels, if you could push to 10k a VRS would be in the picture

volkswagen passat

or honda accord

but yeh a focus would be a good choice think 6k is ST(170) money

edit: 3 doors oh, golf - fabia VRs - focus - fiesta - civic sport :D:D:D
