Hey folks,

Looking for an on the go media editing laptop. Thought I found what I was after only for the Rainforest to deliver something that was claimed to be 18" OLED 4K and was actually 2.5K IPS :( - ROG Strix G18 (2025) G815 / G815LW-S9005W

Ideally spec wise I'm after:

16/17/18" OLED screen, 3K or above

32GB or 64GB RAM

5060/70/80 GFX for video editing not gaming

2TB storage

If that ROG had turned up with an OLED screen it would have been perfect.

Thanks for any advice folks!

Rikki

Don't think you'll get a 17 or 18 inch OLED screen at that resolution or above with those specs.

If you're happy with 16", then the ASUS ProArt P16 is probably the closest thing you can get to that spec or the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 10.

Thanks everyone, I indeed went for 16" and a little crazy on a £4000 HP Omen with OLED screen, 64GB RAM and 2TB NVME plus 5090 ... But its for work (so I keep telling myself) lol.

Thank you!

Its a good laptop. Just intrigued

I think the equivalent spec Legion of the HP MAX is closer to £5k. Esp with screen, full power modes and memory.

5070TI and 5080 options are notably cheaper in both brands but the 5090 option isn't.

Mainly the graphics for video editing and future proofing as much as poss with the RAM and SSD buddy. I want to be able to edit multiple 4K video streams and render out fast on the go for work :)

Thank you fella. I really quite like it and its solid in the hand!

I just ordered an Asus P16 with 4k (3840x2400) OLED, 64gb ram, 5070, 2TB. Was £2160 with codes.

Seems a bargain with just the RAM alone costing nearly half of it these days.

The 20% off code expires today, if anyone was on the fence.
