Help from Glaswegians please

If you have never been to Glasgow Central before, when you get off the inbound train head for platform 13-ish and you will find the escalator going down which leads to the low level trains.

Oh right thanks, is it an underground-like train then?

Just booked the tickets, £67.30 return, very pleased with that price.

They kinda begin underground but come out eventually as opposed to the the actual Underground rail. Now that's an experience you should take if you have some spare time :D. You can't get lost as its just 2 big ovals so just stay on it for a loop :)

I think I'll pass on the loop thanks!
But cheers for the advice, I'm hoping Partick isn't going to be quite as confusing!

Partick has two platforms so impossible to get lost. Just keep an eye out for starion signs as the ticker and announcer cam sometimes be wrong.

Weegees are very friendly so don't worry about asking anyone but it is quite simple.

Partick is just a line with a platform on each side so not really confusing.

Glasgow Central is not confusing either. All the tracks run parallel to each other and you will, likely, enter it on a lower numbered platform. All you need to do is walk across the station with all the tracks on your left as they increase in number.

IIRC, platform 13 is just past the stairs you need but if you head for this platform you will reach a roadway for cars (single lane leads to parking) and the stairs are just before you cross the road. There will be signs anyway but its always handy to know which direction to go in

Here's a quick map made by my l33t Paint Skillz

Tracks 1 and 13 are numbered with 2-12 in between as shown (wee lines)
Blue is the roadway for cars access to parking
Red Box is a kind of large kiosk selling magazines etc, steps are behind this
Green is the steps you are looking for

Lol at the map. You do realise there's probably an entire station layout available in a PDF somewhere? :p

It's regular trains except the platforms sit underground because the lines run horizontally compared to the rest. The platforms are tucked away in the corner but they're really not hard to miss. Ask the armed transport police where you're going :p

Not from Central to Queen St you didn't otherwise that's very stupid. Argyle Street - Buchanan Street would be the only way to do it. And the walk to Argyle Street would take as long as walking to Queen Street.

The subway only runs from Argyle Street to the top of Buchanan street, both of which are equal distances away from both Central and Queen Street?

That's what I was thinking.

Unless it was st enouch > partick subway but that's not a ten minute walk.

The last platform is now 15 I think. 12 and 13 start halfway up the station. They were supposed to be the platforms for the airport link iirc.

Is it wrong that after reading the thread title i was expecting it to be about him having locked his keys in the car and needing to get into it? :o
