Hiya all,
Bit of a weird one!, My mum's laptop is melting power supplies!!! it has melted 2 in the last 2 weeks!!
It turns out that my mothers laptop is heating the power supplies up so much that the wire from the psu to the laptop is melting. I have no idea why or what can be done to stop it. The power supplies were fine on my laptop with 24hour 7 days a week use.
Her laptop is an HP NX7000 and her power supply said:
INPUT: 100-240v-1.6A(1.6A) 50-60hz
OUTPUT: 18.5v(18.5v)-3.5A(3.5A) LPS 65W
My laptop is an N400C and The one I had said:
INPUT: 100-240v-1.7A(1.7A) 50-60hz
OUTPUT: 18.5v(18.5v)-3.5A(3.5A) LPS 65W
Her laptop destoryed both of these.
If anyone can think why this might be happening or how on earth to prevent it any advice would be much appreciated!
Cheers,
G
