Hi guys,

need to buy a laptop in the next week or so, but cant really find one that suits my needs. The only ones i can find are the Lenovo IBM T60's, but the one i want aint in stock anywhere and is expensive.

Currently i have the following in mind:
Asus V1Jp Laptop
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 - 2GHz (x2), 667MHz FSB, 4MB L2 Cache
RAM: 2048MB DDR2-667MHz
Hard Drive: 160GB Serial ATA 5400rpm
Screen: 15.4" Widescreen TFT (1680x1050 - 16:10)
Optical Drive: DVD±RW Super Multi Double Layer
Graphics: ATI Radeon X1700 supporting 512MB HyperMemory
Wireless LAN: 802.11a/b/g - Call for advice on Wireless Networking
Bluetooth: Bluetooth Enabled
Warranty: 2 Year Collect and Return
Operating System: Windows XP Professional Edition Windows Vista
Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000
Built-In 1.3 MegaPixel Camera
Biomectric Fingerprint Security
Spill Proof Keyboard
Hot-Swap Module Bay
Free Mouse and Carry Case

The only real problem i have with the above spec is the size, ideally i'm looking for a 14.1" screen, but with good resolution 1400 x 1050 ideally.

Ideally the laptop has to be very very reliable as i shall be using it for business.

Laptop shall mainly be used for:
SQL
ERP software
Office
Visio
and some gaming and movies (when i'm stuck in a hotel)
a little basic Photoshop

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Meds

Budget is between £1000-£1700, but would ideally like to stay closer to the lower end of the scale.

Hi,

Unfortunately i cant get an apple laptop as i am unsure of the compatibility of the various software i shall be using.

ANy thoughts on this laptop:

(UT0FVUK) Lenovo ThinkPad T60 2007 - Core 2 Duo T5600 / 1.83 GHz -
RAM : 1 GB - HD : 120 GB - DVD-Writer - Gigabit Ethernet - WLAN : Bluetooth, 802.11 a/b/g/n (draft) - TPM - fingerprint - Win XP Pro - 15" TFT 1400 x 1050 ( SXGA+ ) - Express Selection
This is approx £1300 + £80 for an extra 1gb ram to bring it up to 2gb.

Also would i notice the difference betweeb a T5600 and a T7200???

Would really appreciate your help guys as i need to purchase this by Thursday.

Thanks

Using a MacBook/Pro just for Windows would annoy me to no end. Single mouse button, and various keyboard keys that have differing functions. At least on the iMac/MacPro you can use your own keyboard and mouse all the time.
