Help me choose a Convertible for the summer

Shot in the dark - 6 Series Cab?

Personally the Mercs are really nice and I'm sure the Audi is a really good car but people always say do whatever you can to get into some sort of decent Porsche.

You like the look of the Z4? Could probably get one of the newer ones with the folding metal roof (like the SL/SLK) - just putting it out there...

Cheers guys But I'm not a BMW fan not that there is anything wrong I'm just not a fan.

Looks like were putting the Porsche on hold :( so its either a SLK55 or an RS4. Both V8's one NA one twin blowers. Both under 5 secs to 60 but the Audi is soo much more car for the money.

However there is a dealer up the road in Keighley with all three cars in stock so will go for a look.

I thought they were both NA?

They are both NA.

Op, have you driven an RS4 convertible? I have and the scuttle shake was terrible - I could constantly feel it throught the steering column when the car moved over different road surfaces. Doesn't help that the suspension is rock hard anyway.

I realise this will be an issue with most (if not all) convertibles, but it was really bad with the RS4.

Thats what reading too much does to you. Your both right they are both NA.

As yet I havn't driven any of them trying to nail down a shortlist.

Did you experience scuttle shake when it was being pushed hard or under "Normal" driving.

How can you be in the market for such a specialist high value car yet not know what sort of engine is fitted to the two cars on your shortlist?

Some people don't want to know, nor care, about such things.

Unusual in this market place, sure, but not un-common.

It was normal driving, anything other than smooth asphalt could be felt through the column and to a lesser degree the central console and dash. Painted chevrons approaching roundabouts at speed were particularly bad. Now get get me wrong, there was no squeeks or rattles, but I felt the scuttle shake was really obvious.
