Help Me Choose a New Lens

Me again. Really considering the Tamron 17-50, but what about Sigma's version?

Im going on holiday to The Philippines soon so will be taking plenty of landscapes and lowlight photography, I want to get the 35 f/1.8 bought soon but I am still undecided on the 16-85 or the 17-50 2.8, Tamron or Sigma.
 
Really, any of them will do a job for you. If it was me I'd take the 16-85, I trust Nikon glass more, it's a proven performer and, for wide angles when you don't really want to be shooting wide open most of the time, I'd value VR over the extra half stop at the wide end myself. I'm really not convinced though that the lens if your problem...it's simply very difficult to imagine how it could cause the issues you describe...
 
Thanks BRS. I dont think it is either but like I said it doesnt do it with my other lenses. Anywho when I am back in the UK in June the body is going straight into a repair shop to see if they can diagnose it.
