Hi,

I need some input on deciding on what resolution and size to go for on my next monitor.

My main specs are 4690k @ 4.5Ghz, 16GB RAM and a GTX 1070.

I currently have an old BenQ XL2411T. I run a dual monitor set up with an old 24" 1080p as the secondary. I aim to replace both monitors, the BenQ with another gaming monitor and then the secondary with an IPS panel for films etc.

I'm after a G-Sync, 144Hz monitor but cant decide if 1080p or 1440p and 24" vs 27" is the way to go.

With multiplayer FPS (BFs, CODs etc) I'm all about frame rate so graphic settings are on the lowest to ensure I get as close to a consistent 144 FPS as possible.

There seem to a few good deals around already on monitors, especially the Dell S2716DG (£450) and S2417DG (£400) and PG278QR (£520).

Just not 100% convinced on which size / resolution to go for so any input would be greatly received.

Thanks

27" 1440p would be my pick. Extra 3" IMO between the 27 and 24" dell for £50 is worth it. Nice mix of pixel density at 27" 1440p. GTX 1070 for most the part will do a solid job at that resolution, may need to tweak off some of the more demanding settings if your dead set on 144 FPS. The ASUS does have slightly higher refresh rate, but up to you if the difference between 144hz and 165hz is worth the £70.

Reducing quality settings is fine by me in most games.

The Dell S2716DG seems like the winner so far

How about for a second monitor? Do I stick with a 24"? Get a 27" for symmetry? Toooo many options, main use of the second will be interneting and videos etc. How does 1080p look on a 27"?
