I'm not sure which cooler to buy for my Giga DS3P mobo. I want the best cooling from one of these!

1. Thermalright HR-05

2. Thermaltake Extreme Spirit II

So which one is it... the red or the blue one?

For some odd reason I do not like thermaltake :D

but dont know about the specific product.

on the other hand the thermallight chip cooler is very popular

I have a HR-05 which works very well as a passive cooler. I did cabletie a 80mm fan on it when I upped my NB volts to 1.7(P5n-e) but this was more precautionary and the fan is a blue led one which looks kinda good in my case.
The advantage with the Theramaltake one is that the fan comes fitted so no cableties.
I wouldn't have thought that there is much difference in cooling ability between the 2.
You might also want to consider the Noctua which is meant to be highly rated.

Have you tried the 'bay for the Noctua? The thermalright HR-05 is quite a highly rated NB cooler the reviews of it online are quite good. I still haven't got round to installing my Noctua yet!

id get a Noctua NC-U6 infact i did get one. just try and get one shipped from somewhere cheap
