Looking for some advice on replacing my current motherboard the Striker Extreme, which has gained me absolutely nothing but bugs and unstable OC’s, and was quite possibly the worst £200 I ever spent.

Basically, I want a proven stable board that’s compatible with the below, that’ll allow me to OC my Q6600 to around 3.6 and push my RAM, with as little effort as possible. As far as a budget is concerned, I’m okay with £150-£250, but considering the time of year I think the Mrs would prefer lower…

Q6600 & Tuniq Tower 120
2GB Geil Black Dragon PC8500 – DDR2
9800GX2 – PCIe 2.0
I have absolutely no intentions of going SLi and depending on the price of the board I'll consider another 2 sticks as a bonus present :D

So far I’ve read that the P5Q boards offer very good quality and stability for OC’ing, but I have no idea which one to go for as there’s: Premium, Deluxe, WS, -E, Pro, EM, etc… Also, after my experience with the Striker Extreme I’m really looking to take a giant leap away from the Nvidia chipsets. However, if anyone cares to offer an opinion to the contrary I’m happy to listen.

Cheers in advance and Merry Xmas :)

Yea, I’ve been reading that the Gigabyte UD3P board is quite nice and at a good price too. I’ve not really had much experience with Gigabyte though, how much quality goes into their products etc. Also I’ve read that the BIOS can be a little confusing; I’m not completely inexperienced and like to believe I have at least half a brain, but it still makes me a little nervous.

As for the P5Q’s, this seems to be what I’m leaning towards and from what I’ve seen the most popular choice seems to be the Deluxe. Anyone who’s had experience with the Pro care to comment?
