Hey guys

Just got my latest gas and leccy bill, and dont really understand it . Am sure that there are lots of people out there who also dont understand it, so am just wondering if someone could quickly run through it.

What are primary and secondary units ? Is this bill high ; i've just moved into a new flat, so dont really know how much they should be.I'm with Powergen by the way . . . .

my guess is that primary and secondary units are to do with fixed costs of supplying electricity and gas.

I'd guess that supplying electricity to a house has a fixed cost even if no or very little electricity is used, so the first units you use are more expensive in order to cover these costs, and the additional units are priced to cover just the cost of the actual electricity

thats a total guess though.

I think its an economy7 thing!...

Primary is - Daytime (Peak)
Secondary is - Evening/Night (Off-Peak)

its for perple with storage heaters, so you can power them and store the heat/hot water at night (when its cheap) and dish it out during the day (when its s'pensive)...

Could be wrong though (probly!!) :D
