Help me improve Couple from today

Couple of poor attempts from today. Im not going to ask what is right with them, so ill let you tell me what is wrong.

The images have been taken straight off the camera and havnt been modified.

with the top, might look good if you retook it but in a way that put the tower in the bottom left, and large area of sky, but still keeping the grass. i think the proper term for that is negative space?

Have a play with different compositions. In the first shot try to straighten the tower up and take it out of the centre of the frame. Get up close and use the wide end of your lens as well. Just try loads of different compositions and angles then see what looks best when you stick them on the computer.

Is that Scrabo tower BTW?

Yup, biggest problems are the tower is at a kilter in both pics and it's dead centre.

yea, i could'nt get many angles due to their being an abseiling event on and there was a camera crew, just my luck to go on the day with the good weather
