help me own my housemate at red alert2

Like stated above, Red Alert 2 and in fact all of the Command and Conquer series is generally 'biggest army' wins. To achieve this:

- build 3 harvesters (you want money coming in quickly). 2 refineries and 4 harvesters is my choice.
- build 2-3 war factories
- build 2 barracks
- build as many tanks as your money allows
- it is also beneficial to have 'some' infantry too

make sure you've got at least some AA if you're playing against an allied player, otherwise a surgical strike by the flying infantry (rocketeers) will destroy your Construction yard.

Hey all

Just wondering if theres any strat pros on here who can give me some tips:D

try the expansion pack for it.....yuri's revenge

Good call.

Also couple your tank/infantry groups with a few anti-air personnel. You can have them hang back a little if need be as they are weak against ground units, so only bring them forward if you are being attacked from above.

to make it a far better game, turn off super weapons

if you're allies, brits are awesome because of the sniper, keep trying to trash his harvesters

the GI's that cost £300 (i think it's 300) the ones that fire rockets when you deploy them, are awesome, if you've got 10-15 of them, with around 3 snipers and 5 normal Gi's on the ore field, it'll take a lot to kill them

using your spy's is very important, and blocking his are more important, so buy a ton of dogs and set them to patrol your base (and keep watching the map). spy into his power plant = power down (and the heavy defences + radar) for 60 seconds, spy into his barracks & tank builder= all your new units will be promoted in training, and spy into his tech centre will give you a new unit (barracks)

having about 5 or 6 prism tanks in a line behind some deployed GI's will stop all light - medium attacks

best way to practise it keep playing an 8 player map against all brutal cpu teams, you'll soon learn how to defend!

-the games all work fine in xp and vista, although i don't have it installed as such, i just keep the RA2 folder on my external drive, and use a cracked exe for the game -the protection it uses really really doesn't like xp, so i was kinda forced to do that!

i've never been able to use Yuri's revenge! it's never worked on any XP system i've ever had.

an excellent base defense, if you're Allied is to build about 120GIs, and deploy them all. they're M60s will make short work of anything short of a full scale attack from Prism tanks of a Kirov Airship (and by then you should have plenty of AA)

Another way to win is to download finalalert 2 (map editor) and make a map where YOU have about 4 Oilderricks and he has a hospital and a service station :D

i've installed it many a time

what problems were you getting?

installs fine. atttempting to run the game greets me with the CD drive spinning up and a black screen that lasts some 30 seconds, and then i am returned to the desktop with no sign of the game.

Tesla towers! Loads of them. Super protection, although a super drain on your power.

thats what nuclear reactors are for ;)

IIRC It's chearper to build a refinery and then sell it so that you end up with just the harvester from it than just buying a new harvester.

EDIT: Actually no that's C&C3....
