currently drive ibiza 1.2sx, nice car but too slow :(

drove the 1.9tdi FR (130 brake) the other day, and it's a decent compromise between the cupra and what i currently drive, but our lass isn't having any of it, over all, it'll workout around the same cost in 5 yrs as the car i'm driving now adding the finance to buy it (12k new), i've tried the 'but this one's more economical' trick and it aint worked :(, she fails to see that us men like to 'upgrade' or 'get better' ,she's daft.

  • More power for safer overtaking and manouevering
  • More airbags, traction control/ESP, EBA etc...
  • Better for the environment
  • At least 3 years of hassle free motoring being covered by the manufacturers warranty. (Before you mention this look under the bonnet of your existing car and tut every so often saying things like "That clutch is going to go soon.")
  • The clincher for women... "What will people think of us driving around in an obsolete shopping trolley, we have to keep up with the times for the sake of our reputation. Imagine what your friends will think when they see you in the new car"

12k would buy you a cupra tdi anyway. with about 2k on the clock from a main dealer. An extra 30bhp wouldnt damage the fuel economy that much, and its so much nicer.
