Am after a new tripod for my aging A200, I have looked at Velbon, Giotto and Redsnapper
Mainly want it for landscape type of stuff, I dont mind if its quite heavy, I just want a rock solid one that does not wobble.
But not sure which is best, I really dont want to spend more than £80,
The three I have seen up to now are

Giottos MTL9251 Pro Tripod with MH5011 Head £75

Redsnapper RS-283 & RSH-528 Head £75

Velbon Sherpa 750R Tripod £85

I am swaying to the redsnapper as I remember they had an excellent reputation a while ago and build quality was top grade.
So any help with the above or any others I should be looking at.

If you're buying new Red Snapper are very good for value. Otherwise 2nd hand could get you a nice tripod. I got a Manfrotto 190XDB and 486RC2 ball head for £70.

Red Snapper, no questions.

The carry case they come with is also worth quite a bit and VERY good quality with storage space for parts.

See the Red Snapper thread from a while back.

I have that ball head but the tripod is the RS-324. the ball head is brilliant. Feels every bit as good as anything from the big names out there and movement is dampened and smooth.

Thanks for the help and its going to be the Redsnapper, will order it later today,

I do prefer the ball head but am a bit broke at the moment so thought I'd get it with the cheaper head for now.

Buy a "Three-Legged-Thing" looked at them at the NEC Birmingham and they are cracking Tripods. Can be used as a Monopod as well.
That's my next buy as I find my Mannfroto too heavy.
