Good evening folks.

I need a bit of help. It's my lovely girlfriends 21st birthday on the 18th June this year. we've been together just over three and a half years and have never been on holiday, as she's a broke student and I've always been strapped for cash.

Anyway, I've booked some time off work, and I'd like to take her away, only for a short weekend, over her birthday. We'd both rather stay in the UK and have talked about Cornwall as a possible suggestion, or Scotland. Somewhere nice and picturesque anyway

Anyway, long story short, I have a budget of 2-300 pounds for this, maybe more if needed for travel expenses etc. Can anyone help me to go about find a place/good deal/places to go/booking etc?

I'll be honest, never done this before and don't even know where to begin :(

Thanks in advance,

Sean :)

Hmm, for a budget like that it might be worth looking at a youth hostel :)

My girlfriend is obsessed with youth hostelling but isn't my idea of a holiday :p

Checkout the eurostar website. I managed to get a good deal when I took my gf to Paris for her 21st. Trains and hotel for us both was around £200 for a long weekend.

-edit- sorry just seen you don't wanna leave the UK. but I think thats mad :o Paris is amazing and we had the best weekend ever :D

Don't mind leaving the UK, but think we would probably get the most from our limited budget staying inland.

well dunno about cheapest or quickest but better off having a car in cornwall if you do come down.

you got a tent?

Yeah I have a tent, although I don't mind camping, on this occassion I'd prefer maybe a b&b or hotel. I don't want to stay in a crap hole though.

I'll run the idea past her. We've been camping locally for the odd night, and had a great time. I think the idea of this trip was to get a roof for the night too. I'll see what she says.

Are there good, quiet places to camp then?
