Help Needed - Serious issue with GTA IV Hanging / Not Loading Game

Hi Guys,

Wonder if anyone can help me, or had similar problems.

I came to load up GTA today, from the Autosave "Escuela of the Streets" Mission. The game got to the "Loading...." bit, but stayed there for 5 mins without doing anything not loading.

In the end i copied the save to another profile and deleted the original so it would load to the previous save which was luckily just before this mission. The game loaded, but half way through the mission the game just hung. Became non responsive.

After rebooting them i had the exact same problem with this save, hanging on the "Loading...." bit.

Anyone got any ideas whats going on? As I have no other save games to fall back on. The disc seems fine, no scratches etc, and not having problems in any other game.

Any help appreciated

im having exactly the same problem. have u tried deleting the game install?

PS3 I assume?

Disable your internet in network settings.

I had the same problem like an hour ago... disabled the internet and it loaded up fine.

hmmm

i moved my ps3 upstairs and after turning the wireless connection back on i too have had this problem

I had this same problem....i reinstalled the game and it has worked (so far!)...really annoying tho...these sort of things shouldnt happen with such a major release!

This just started happening to me too. If I sign out of PSN it will load. This was after I tried the multiplayer.

certainly having net disabled seems to fix it. not a lot of good if u want to play mp tho. is take two working on a fix?

i just unpluggged the network cable from my router, game loads up fine....good thing i dont have the time to do any multiplayer right now or id be fuming!

Thanks for the help. Got it all sorted now. Was having a mild heart attack then. Thought i'd have to start from the begining
