Help needed with diet and exercise please

I think that i must need to work up to that sort of level then, rather than jumping straight in the deep end. lol

So just turn the speed down untill i hit that level ?

Yeh, just a tad, longer and slower is better than short and faster for this kind of stuff.
 
Ok cool, it just felt like i was well outta shape lol.

So get on the treadmill for say 45 mins ? walking or jogging or just untill i hit my target heart rate ?

So what heart rate would you aim for ?
 
Basically if you feel like you could keep up a conversation just about then thats a good level for you to go along at, you don't want to over complicate things when your just starting out

No i know but working at the wrong levels can have negative effects! (well almost ;))

Don't get obsest and be on your HR monitor 24/7, just give it a check every now and then making sure your HR isnt getting too high.

How many times a week would you recommend doing cardio for best results ?

I am going to try and get back into the gym and start lifting weights also. I would expect to do that at least 3 times a week.
 
With cardio the more often the better (within reasons obviously ;))

On the weights side, have atleast a 48 hour break between each weights session, and have a decent portion of protein afterwards. I'm not a fan of the shakes and supplements, if you can build a chicken from an egg, then you build some pretty decent guns with them too! ;)

So what would you recommend ? What days for cardio and what days for gym ?
 
Then i'd say

  • Mon cardio + weights
  • Wed - Cardio
  • Thur - Weights
  • then if you can Fri - cardio

This may take a few weeks to get used to, but once your into it you'll get some real good benefits.
