Help on deciding to buy 7970 or GTX 680

That's what Andy is always like, he irrationally hates anything with 1 Gb vram and keeps on bleating on and on about defending his purchase of a 7970.

I get the feeling that he was led down a dark alleyway by a 1 Gb GTX 560 ti, it was offering free candy and he took the bait.

Then I think you can guess the rest. Now anything that doesn't have at least 2, if not 3 Gb vram is simply bad and evil!

If you just "lost a card" due to it not having enough vram are you prepared to make that same costly mistake again?

Smart money is 7950 CF. Even the 3980x holds back 7970 CF.

The 5970 has been out a while and it not as if the 2GB version was out in a timely fashion and when the 2GB per GPU versions finally did come out the price was ridiculous.
