Help please - Job application question

I am applying for a Customer Service Manager position and in one of the fields I want help in one of the category of selling myself to the company.

I have 8 years experience in this field. can someone give me some good points to add and some examples of what to write and wha not to write, I haven't started writing anything on this so it will be from fresh.

The question are as follows:

Please describe why you are applying for the post, relating your experience/skills etc to the person specification and job description.

No offence, but if you can't answer such a standard question then you don't deserve the job.

Without wanting to sound rude shouldnt you already know what to answer?

I mean you are applying for a managerial role....

But the problem is, there is a lot of competition for this post and I haven't attempted this question for a long time.

If you are going to be negative then I might as well delete this thread.

I just wanted some good points but I see there isn't any help here and the mere problem is I am changing from a Sales manager position to customer service manager position.

I think you have to take your own work experience and relate it to the post you have applied for. Give good reasons why you think you are suitable for the job and what you hope to gain from it. I'm not in I.T. so I can't be much help. Surely as a sales manager you can relate to being a customer services manager, things such as after sales support is customer service I would have thought.

Probably not much help, but look back at what you've done in the past and relate it to what you would be doing if you get this job. You must already think you're suitable for the new position, so why do you think this?

For each section of the person specification/job description give an example of why your skills/experience match theirs. Give specific examples from your past work experience.

Example - Person specification might be for someone who is an excellent problem solver.

Just think of an example from one of your jobs where you solved a problem and describe that example.
