Help Team OcUK beat some Russians…

I estimated just after i started the thread that we would get about 20 new people, however i simply cannot believe that there aren't more people than that with idle machines, so this thread will stay at the top of the gd and recieve visits from as many bumpasauruses as necessary until a few more people join up.
I have a whole herd/gaggle/flock or bumpasauruses here waiting to help out!
Anyone feeling a little bored could have a go at making some new bumpasauruses if they wish and pop them in if the thread dissapears off the front page. Heres the origonal one invented by someone on these very boards i believe.

I think next time there will be more emphasis on the cancer curing side of it, and i think the length of the first post is one of the main reasons why many people can't be bothered to read it. I'll try and think of a clever theme to get people interested a bit like the russian theme.

We did consider prizes and competitions at one point but no-one has any prizes. Plenty of ideas for competitions.
Actually i think i now have two ideas for the next thread

-Pc gets too hot/noisy/uses too much power.
Solution: Sort out noise and cooling, or run at a low cpu percentage.
Is it worth putting this on the end of the quick and easy quide?
Folding myths and solutions. That way it would end up in the sticky in the dc forum. I won't make it an actual part of the quick and easy guide tho.

Just to add to that, if the medical reaserch side of it doesn't interest you for that reason, its still worth doing to help your team and your forum and for the competative side.
We were never going to beat them as such. The aim was to keep in 48th place by stomping Linux before the Russians stomp us. I don't think we will be able to do that, however i expect we will regain 48th place shortly after we loose it.
In the last couple of hours we have broken our record for active users. The most we have ever had was 110, we now have 112. Well done all.

Your right, and i think many of the users reading the gd must have read this thread, and i cannot understand why they don't join up?
I mean 12 people out of at least 500 who have read this thread is shocking.
Thats not to say its been a faliure or anything, but it could have been better.
