Hey all (again)!
Not having much luck with TV's so far
First I got a Samsung LE40R86 which had awful input lag which wound me up to no end as my AVR has no lipsync, and could notice the delay when gaming. Really bad scart banding on both inputs too.
Then got a Sony KDL40T2800 which had awful clouding and flickering/flashing in dark scenes
So, have had my money back, and am on the lookout for a new TV, either LCD or Plasma. I've always been against plasmas when used for gaming, but I keep hearing that screen burn is near enough gone unless your showing static images for hours upon end, though there is still some image retention which goes away after a little while.
I really like the Toshiba 42Z3030D(B), looks good on paper, and looks good in the flesh too, though it can't receive anything higher than 720p over VGA, though that shouldn't be too much of a problem. Only other thing with that one is that there are no per input picture profiles.
Then theres the Samsung LE40F86BDX, which again looks good on paper and in the flesh, perhaps better than the Tosh, but from what I've read, this screen seems to be somewhat of a lottery to get a good one. Any one want to give their opinions on this?
Then the plasma, the Panasonic TH42PZ70B, same price as the Tosh, appears to support 1080p/24 though not 100% jutter free.
I'm pretty picky when it comes to spending what is basically over a months wages on a single item, so I expect it to work really! I know I'm not going to get away from clouding with an LCD, or hot pixels.
What should I go for? Sources are Sky+ (HD soonish), Xbox 360 and probably a PS3 for Blu-Ray.
Thanks guys!
