AN8 Ultra board, updated to Bios 20 and 100% stable with my old Athlon64 3500+ in vista. I have installed a new cpu, an X2 3800+ and am having stability issues now. Vista has bluescreened several times since, seemingly at random, running stable for 3 days and then sudden BSOD, i do not think it is a temperature problem, I have a good HSF on there with AS5 and it did not crash out while running benchmarks or games. I am thinking it has to be either a: a faulty CPU or b: some incompatibility problem with the motherboard and/or the drivers for vista. Any suggestions would be very gratefully received.

Having done a little googling, I find that BCCode 124 is a hardware issue, but cant find anything more specific than that.

Not re-installed Vista yet, hopefully that is a last resort :)
already on high performance, with everything that can turn things off disabled (i hate Monitor to sleep etc).
Vista is Home Prem OEM with all relevant updates to date

vista as all the amd cpu drivers so i can't see its a driver problem. have u tryed turning off cool n quiet or downgrading the bios to 18? do u have xp still installed? if u have, does it do the same thing in xp?

dont have an XP install to try it. Will try the downgrade bios thing. Have already disabled Cool N Quiet (still crashing)
