After updating my CPU to a Q6700 and finding my antiquated Foxconn motherboard is useless for OC it's made me want to upgrade it to a Foxconn BlackOps motherboard.

The BlackOps spec for memory says:- Memory: 4x DDR3 DIMM 1600 / 1333 / 1066 / 800 / 667MHz (Max. 8GB)

Simple question for you experts ... Should I just go for memory rated at 1600MHz like these?

or is it worth going for memory modules rated at 2000MHz like these?

or even 2133MHz like these?

For the sake of £5 I would buy the G.Skill Ripjaw 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-16000C9 2000MHz Dual Channel.

It will still be able to run at 1600MHz with 'possibly' the tighter timings if you can't get it stable at 2000MHz with your sytsem clocked - so probably worth a £5 gamble?

memory for blackops

Hi everone this is my first post.
My question I have just got a foxconn blackops intel e8400 g skill ripjaw 4GB 2x2 ddr3 12800c8 1600mhz. When I put the system together and powerd up the fans and graphic card
just keept starting and stoping and the Dram power led flashing red.
I called overclockers support they told me that the memory was not compatible and
gave a RMA refound. Could some one help with picking some memory that will work from
overclockers u.k

Welcome to the forums.

I woud make a post in the cutomer services forum (Pre-sales enquiries) - link - and ask them to list their memory/stock that they know to be compatible with this MB. (They will be in a far better position to advise you on compatibilty issues regarding their stock.)

That or make a dedicated thread asking the same thing in the MB forum.

@BazBell, as you're considering the same memory you should perhaps tag onto snake247's enquiry.
