Hey all,

I have been a gamer for quite a while but never really had the money for a decent gaming PC. I got a normal laptop for my 18th which I have been using to game on the past few years but I feel like the time has come to get a proper gaming PC but I have no idea what build or components to get. I am currently saving and my planned budget is a maximum of £1500 to £2500. I wanna get a model which will let me run all new and current games coming out. Does anyone have any recommendations? This would be a great help.

Hi there welcome

First off are you wanting to build the pc yourself ? (Not as hard as you might think) or do you want a pre-built system ?

What exactly do you need ? i.e Tower, monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers etc.

With a £2.5K max budget you can get a pretty nice setup.

That's a very wide range. Given you mention a laptop, I'm guessing you will need absolutely everything.

The base of your system should probably be one of OCUK's AMD bundles. Generally, for 1080p gaming you'll want a Nvidia GTX 1060 or better or an AMD Radeon 580 or better. Both will also allow you to play older games at 4K on highish settings and newer games on reduced settings. The better the GPU the better the gaming experience and higher resolution you can use. Since you will be buying everything, you need to consider the relative costs of an AMD GPU with a Freesync monitor versus a Nvidia GPU with a GSync monitor.

Don't skimp on the monitor, keyboard, and mouse. They are how you use the PC so they deserve attention. Your eyes and hands will thank you for it.

Think carefully and get back to us when you have finalised your budget.

Core unit ..

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,752.83 (includes shipping: £0.00)

Less powerful , but saves cash and still is a beast

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,503.97 (includes shipping: £23.10)

Not the prettiest system, but both do the job, £40 steam voucher with the board and Vega comes with 3 free games from AMD

Others can push up to max budget though easily , and I'm useless with keyboards etc
