Didn't work, thing is i installed it on my desktop upstairs, only thing is that's got windows 7 64 bit on not 32 bit

Can you put the CD in the PC upstairs and then connect to it via laptop and install that way?

It has already been installed to the pc upstairs, do you think comodo is affecting the setup? Turned it to training mode but it still hangs then does nothing
didn't quite get what you meant by comodo until i google'd it. yea try disabling it and running the setup again. also to check if it is the cd/dvd drive in your laptop when it starts to hang for ages press the eject button on the dvd drive, as soon once it happens. if the pc speeds up and goes on about insert the dvd/cd again then it must be the dvd/cd drive in your laptop.
how old is the laptop? any trouble with other games on it or ?

No mate nothing wrong with the dvd drive, i just tried installing silent hunter 4 and the autorun came straight up so im a bit stumped really

Well thank you everybody for the help but i have finally found out what's wrong with it, right in the middle of the disk it's a little bit cracked therefore it must not be sitting flush in the drive when it fires up........sooo will have to take it back to the shop. Anyway thanks again for your help
