So I got it last week and have already ordered clear front and side indicators but it has horrible orangey plastic type vents that I want to spray black and think I can probably do myself.

Im a total noob when it comes to paint so can someone please tell me what I need from halfrauds?

Many Thanks.

To do this properly, you need the proper gear, patience and skill.

If you want to do it Halfords style, then you will need:

Wet and dry paper
Primer suitable for the material your painting
Top coat suitable for the primer your using

Btw, you won't get anything more than a diy finish.

Not forgetting a lacquer...

If you take your time and have some sort of skill then you can get very very close to a spray shop finish, especially on small items its not hard at all!

From your description not sure how large an area you are trying to colour, but if it only small detailing.

You could get a small spray gun that you would use to detailing modeling kits e.g. model planes. Fill that up with the correct colour paint and then do the detailing

This is the technique that most of the stone chip repair companies use and it works very well.

Easy job, they are actually black plastic painted orange, so you could just strip the orange off, but I found it easier to paint.

Sand them right back and give them a real good clean.
Give them a few coats of plastic primer, with a light sanding in between.
Plenty of coats of paint.
Maybe a coat of laquer if you want, not 100% neccessary though.

Because of the position, the finish doesn't have to be incredible, as long as its quite smooth, and the prep is done well so they don't flake, they'll be fine. They are open to stone chips though, so I made sure I did quite a few coats of paint.

I did mine black, but silver or body colour works well too..
