Really looking forward to this game, no reviews yet but it looks very good, and is seems like a one of its kind on the PC. The visuals look really good (Final Fantsy esq) and there are multiplayer modes with a story driven single player.

I played the beta and it seems a lot like HMM3 . But then I havent played HMM4

The multiplayer was pretty slow. But kinda expect that when players are taking turns.

HOMM3 was brilliant i used to play it all the time and now ive passed it down to my brother and he loves it.
So im deffo going to get this based on reveiews and if its like HOMM3.

I spent a large chunk of my life playing HOMM 2+3, got 4 last year and was very dissapointed, hope 5 is good :)

So I wasnt the only one who didnt like how they'd changed the gfx can gameplay with HMM4...

HMM2 was excellent as well, its the game that started me off, ended up downloading the roms of both gameboy colour versions and playing them lol

Beehn playing the demo and I can confirm that it's definately going back to it's HOMM III roots. It took me a few minutes to familiarise myself with the UI, but once I had a fiddle it started going alright. Graphics are pretty good, though it is very odd seeng the game with "proper" 3D graphics, as opposed to the 2D we all know and love.

It;ll take a bit of getting used to, but I think t's a damn sight better than HOMM IV was, and a step back in the right direction for the series. Will buy it soon. :)

Got this over the weekend, fluffing good I think :)

The most annoying niggles about 4 seem to be gone (certain creature buildings preventing others from being built, and the general useless of heroes in battles) and I like the way the new hero skill system works :D

Graphics are nice and colourful, very pretty, works a treat with my X800.#

Done a few stages of the main campaign (knights), and started a single scenario with the rampant type (elves).

Unit upgrading is great, as none upgraded ones sometimes have different abilities:

Peasants = taxpayers (each one in your army gives you 1 gold per day)
Conscripts = double the hitpoints, shield, but no tax payer thingy.

Archers = Scatter shot to hit multiple foes in an area
Marksmen = Accurate shot for more damage

Can't wait to try out the other army types
