I have Google assistant disabled on my phone and I wonder if I'm missing out. What kind of super cool things (or even mundane but convenient things) do people use the assistant for on their phones?

I keep reading how great it is...

I use it all the time. Set calendar entries, reminders, weather, read/send messages, set alarms etc.

I only really use it to tell my Sonos speakers to play something.

Doesn't really sound like I'm missing out and that the assistant is just another way to do something, depending on user preference. Choice is good and all that.

Of course it's just another way. It wasn't going to magically do something that you can't already do.

Its incredibly useful. I use it daily for timers when cooking, especially when your hands are full and you don't want to mess up your phone. Or I can't find my phone, but want music on in the kitchen.

You can do stuff with your voice that you would normally do by typing.
As an example
Hey Google.......what can I use hey Google for .

I find using the google assistant for certain tasks far quicker than typing it in manually into the phone. Things like calendar events, reminders, alarms, timers, finding locations and directions to places etc.
