Ok, so, I'm not sure what's actually going on here.
I am trying to rip my Bluray collection and encode to MKV for storage on my NAS for easy access via Kodi on my Nvidia Shield. Sounds easy enough as I've already done half my collection without problems.
BUT an issue seems to occur when I'm ripping a Bluray and encoding an already ripped one at the same time. My screen goes black and the only way to get things back is to hit my reset button.
I've tried using Nirsoft Bluescreen View to see if there was an issue, but there don't seem to be any in that respect.
Event Viewer isn't giving anything away either. It's as if the CPU is just giving up the ghost and the PC just won't come back from that!
I have an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X, Asus ROG Strix X470-F Gaming (although I don't game at all), 16GB DDR4, Windows 10 64bit. Ripping is via MakeMKV and Encoding is via Handbrake. I can rip and encode separately, but together it causes the black screen, non-responsive issue.
The only overclocking I have done is via AMD Ryzen Master and that is only to get the CPU to 4Ghz, no further.
Should I knock the CPU down again (have I completely lost the silicon lottery with this one?) or is there something you can think of?
