i just turned my vista pc on and my e:\ all my files have vanished, the folders are all still there but the files have gone.

all my pics,videos,music

no none , got any ideas it was all there yesterday i left it scanning usings avg and rebooted today and its all gone!!!!!!!!

Sounds like it's logged in with a different profile, check under C:\Users for your profile folder and see if your documents are in there.

Check the logs from the scan, that could provide some info. Not sure how to do this on AVG, I don't use it myself.

Nothing in the recycle bin? Have you tried using find on *.mp3 etc to see if they have just been moved?

does anything show on the drive at all? try running 'testdisk' on it to recover the partition(s)
