Looks like the OP is considering going over budget anyway judging from the above posts.
Omnia - £400
12.1 - £179 (could drastically reduce costs with second hand speakers)
LP60X- £119
Speaker wire etc should only be £20, another £30 for some stands assuming he even needs them and isn't putting the speakers on a table or something.
Edit: £77 for Diamond 9.1's: clicky link.
Accepts offers, they look mint and you can get them new for £110-120 so I'd offer a cheeky £60-70 inc delivery and see if he bites.
I’d be made up. £1500 online.I must be losing the plot, I could have swore that it was £400 on RS when I clicked the link earlier.
I'm blaming old age and a long week, apologies.![]()
It's £750 at RS.
Used prices for some aged but decent kit to get you started. Not sure where you live but loads of decent Hi-Fi to be found used.

I gather you are near Liverpool then, so we can help you look around that area.
In fact I have a Kenwood a-97 amp I need to get rid of as it's a 'full size' integted amp and it doesn't fit with my requirements.. I'd let it go for £100 if you are local so postage costs won't matter.. It weighs a ton so posting it will be un economical.
A bit too far unfortunately. Thanks though. As you mentioned, the postage would be expensive.neer leeds/huddersfield
The speakers are fantastic if you get on with them, the guy is flat out lying about the stands as I've bought the exact same models for £30 2-3 years ago.
I'd not call it a bargain at £400, maybe £250-300. Speakers are a pain to sell on due to shipping so people prefer collection, you could lowball the guy at £300-350 but I'd ask for a demo prior as he's proven to be dishonest. Couple that with the fact he doesn't have a single picture of the actual speakers he owns, guy is a nonsense merchant and should be avoided.
You can literally buy the stands for £39 currently on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01D3LG038
My advice. Don't build the system in one go, instead focus on one piece of gear at a time. Try and keep the quality up. This might mean you only have one source at first.
If your looking for a turntable on a budget I would recommend Rega Planar one, do not go less quality than this however.
There are loads and loads of second hand bargains especially if your happy buying older gear, just be aware some of it will need servicing.
Where are you based in the country, I have audio gear I need to clear, I'm in Crewe.
