Hi, Spec me a budget gaming PC for £450

Yeah just found a copy of W7 64bit laying around so I can use that, thing is the old boy is in his 70's and loves his simulation games, so I wouldn't want to go too overboard for something he probably won't use the potential of. But I wanted to get him a decent machine at the very least so he can play MS Flight Sim 2011 with a nice FPS and for future games of the same nature (I have heard Train Simulator rocks!!! ;))

Looking at the systems you can get from say PC world (granted they include a monitor + OS) to get around the same performance you will need to spend about £600-£700 or perhaps more (integrated graphics only pfft)
NEVER buy PC or hardware from the purple shirt brigade! They are rip-off...I recalled last year saw their so-called "gaming PC" which cost over 1 grand with only a 5770 graphic card and some generic PSU and cheap motherboard etc.

As for the Windows 7 that's "lying around"...you best make sure it is not already used on another PC, or you might get into trouble with Microsoft for using 1 license on more than 1 machine.

Yeah I always advise people never to go to a place like Curries or PC world. I say to do a bit of research, perhaps buy a "DIY" computer mag and post on forums like OCUK (as you guys have never failed me in answering my hardware questions ;))

As for the W7, it's an older technet version so it's not currently used on any machines, latest SP's work with it so the old boy should have no woes.
