We were recommended an Ultion lock when I replaced the cylinder in our front door. Works well, no grumbles.

At some point I want to get the french door and bifold locks replaced so it's 1 key for everything. I'll probably replace the padlock on the shed too.

I’ve got Avocet ABS too and agree with the above point re: key cloning. I got my locks when they were pretty new to the market, it didn’t take long though for YouTube videos to come out showing people picking them.

I doubt an unpickable euro cylinder exists but as long as you go with something that’s anti-snap along with a key system that couldn’t be cloned by a high street key cutter you’ve gone more high security than most would. Even though these things can be picked, it takes time, tooling and specialist knowledge so unlikely to ever be done by a common scally.

Suggest you also consider ordering the cylinders as short as possible so it has minimal protrusion from the door handle. Also consider high security handles at the same time.

I also have Avocet ABS and have seen some of the picking videos. It took them a relatively long time and in at least one they admitted that it wouldn't have been possible if it had been installed in a door rather than clamped upside down in a vice.

^ THIS^

Just replaced all 4 external doors with Avocet ABS at the same time as new stronger handles, they are all flush with the handles which took some good guess work to get right first time.

No-one is going to waste time picking the lock so I just need them to re-think my house or try a nosier method of entry.

Also, if you’re ordering replacement locks for multiple external doors, it’s a good idea not to match keys/cylinder for at least the front door. That way if you lose the key you don’t have to worry about changing all the locks.
