Heya guys, just wondering which out of these 2 psu's is the best or is there not much in it altogether?

Having owned both, and being stuck with the Hiper at the moment.

Tagan everytime, quieter and more reliable from my experiences.

(sorry only had the 480w non modular, and the 580w easycon)

Depends which of the Hiper modulars you're after. The metallic versions appear to be slightly lower quality & noiser as well (Due to the LED fans). However, my plain black 480w is exceedingly good- Pretty near silent, and is running this with no probs:
A64 3700+ @ 1.5 vcore, 2.7ghz
Geforce 7600GT
2x Maxtor SATA 200gb
Seagate IDE 80gb
DVD-RW
Wireless & TV cards

I've got the 580W modular in black (without the noisy LED fans). Fantastic PSU. Rock solid rails and I honestly can't hear it.

Tagan.

Lots of reasons not to get the Hiper, for example its noisy, people have reported a lot more problems than with the tagan, they seem to sometimes destroy connected components when they fail, it only delivers about 480w rather than the 580 its supposed to.

I can dig up evidence and reviews and posts of bad experiences and such if you want me to.

Id say Tagan, but only because im using one ;)

Actually, just to add some tagan weirdness, I recently contacted there tech support as im concerned about the psu getting very hot as the rear fan has never worked. Im aware the fan power is based on power load and maybe my previous Axp machine didnt stress it enough, but surly my A64 should !.

Anyway, the tech support replied and told me to take the psu apart and clean the fans. I have to say i was a little shocked (at the reply - not due to opening psu) and the reply didnt even state a if it was normal behaviour or not. The fan isnt dirty as it has never spun to move any air. Im using the first generation 480w which uses a 24-20 pin atx adaptor instead of the now used seperator

Tagan maybe? however im only saying that as my Hiper 580W Type-R just worn out, rear fan stopped spinning at one point and loud clicking noises - after 9 months of usage...

i own both, tagen 430 watt U22, defently feels a lot more heavier
than the hiper 580 watt.

and also my hiper fans went after about 6 months
they make clicking sounds but the psu still works,
havent had time to RMA it because iam waiting on the new
seasonic sleeved PSU to arrive.

Dont go for the hiper,i have had 2 go on me now,the last one i think the 12volt line has died as the pc wont boot but the system fans spin very slowly.

No more than 9 months wear out of both of them.

DEFINITELY Hiper.
Tagan (unless its the Topower OEM version) are *****.

To be fair though, the Libertys and Epsilons spank both. Better off with one of those.
