and that has what to do with PSU death? that just talks about its efficiency and thermal cut out. lol. Admittedly at full load it isn't stable, buit people who buy these, aren't likely to run at 100% capacity for more than a few seconds. At least find a review that has something to do with the topic :p

the hiper type-r scaremongering continues in full force i see.

i ordered one last week before these threads and now have had to wait the longest easter weekend ever with the drama surrounding them builds and builds

You should not have any issues at all, my main rig runs a 350watt hiper and *** rails are above normal levels at all times as well as the other machine with the 580 type-r - has been so for ages.

Like any hardware forum, people always post their problems. If everyone posted that had no issues with Hiper then it would flood the forum. I'm more than happy with mine and it'll stay that way until I personally have problems.

There are some pretty dreadful reviews of Hiper PSUs around. I bought one and had to RMA it as it made lots of strange noises. I replaced the Hiper 580 with a Tagan 530 and have not regretted it.

I think the Hiper was built with the bling market in mind. If bling's your thing you couldn't do better than the Hiper as is attested to here by those who've bought these PSUs and discovered that theirs work.

I've never seen a bad review of the Akasa Paxpower 460W. In the room with me at the moment I have no less than three Hiper 580W Type R's , two Akasa Paxpower 400's , a Paxpower 460, two Seasonic 430W's and something that came out of an ASUS mATX case last year.

The only problems I had were when I bought the LED Hiper's. I took them back and got the Black Label ones and they've been fine.

You have a point there, but as I've said, I think the build quality is very hit and miss with these, I also don't think the visual finish, and the parts quality are as high as Tagans, but they are effectively a "budget" performance PSU if you get my drift lol
