HIS 6870 or HIS 6970

i have a 6970 and all i can say is what heat and what noise, the only case ive read of a 6970 running to hot is from chaotic uk and if im not mistaken when he rma'd it he noticed the board was bent and the heat issue was proberly due to the heatsink had poor contact, i have to agree with bigbruiseral, if you have a decent case with good airfllow these cards do not run hot or noisey

Yet again more people just reading bench mark and giving duff advise, the 570and 6970 are NO diff in real world terms of noise, i have my 6970 in my case and loan 570...nothing in it despite what you read. Temps on 6970 85c load on auto fan...if your temps are worse it a duff card or you have carp air flow / end thread emo rage over :p

Thank You! Someone who talks sense! Both the 6970 and 570 are v. good cards! Both perform pretty equally (depending on the game) and both are pretty much identical when it comes to heat and noise on stock coolers.
The only thing I would say is that when third party coolers come out all of this arguing will be completely pointless! If it's too hot or noisy then spend a little extra for a better cooler. Or perhaps even go under water
