Hi all,

I recently purchased the HIS HD 7950 IceQ BOOST 3072MB graphics card which replaced the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560Ti OC.

I couldn't get my system to boot at first with the 7950 in it, but resetting the CMOS fixed that. Then only to find that loading a game (Arma 2) or 3dMark, my PC crashes.

I thought just to be sure to eliminate software faults, I will wipe my hard drive and start over (which I've just done this morning) and it still occurs.

I don't know what to do to be honest... please help!! :(

Specs:

Asrock Z68 Extreme4
Intel i7 2600k
Kingston HyperX Genesis 1600Mhz (16GB)
Antec TruePower New Modular 750W '80 Plus Bronze'

Hi, my system is overclocked from 3.4GHz to 4.6GHz. I have tried it at stock, BIOS was already up-to-date and I have also tried a beta bios.

I have also tried the beta catalyst drivers...

It's all fitted in snuggly. I shall try the afterburner thing - see if that works. Can I stop it from boosting the clock speed? And how much should I change the voltage by?

No, no spare - it's not even two years old...

I was lead to believe at the original time of purchase that the PSU could easily handle x2 graphics cards...

I'm going to ask them to refund me, I've had enough..

Thanks very much for your help. Didn't bother with faffing with the voltages and that in all honesty; it should just work.

Fingers crossed that it is actually faulty and not something faulty with my system, i.e. my PSU as you suggested.

Got it working!! :D

After installing Windows 8 I noticed that there was a 'windows.old' folder saved, which obviously meant that I had formatted the wrong hard drive. So, I formatted (low-level) the correct one and loaded Windows 7 and the graphics card is now working.

Though I had removed my wireless PCI card, which could be that which was causing a problem, but I doubt it.

I think it was just Windows messing about. It's all working good now after a low level format.

Just been playing Bioshock Infinite on all the highest settings and it's working work. Arma 2 lags a little in places, but only a little.
