Gibbo, what are the chances these would work in a soltek 3801a using a 250w psu?

X1950 Pro's won't work with a 250W PSU I am afraid. Your best bet is a 7900 GS which might just work, but again your chancing it. A card that will definetely work is a 7600 GT.

It gets even better as now we have both the HIS X1950 Pro Turbo in 256 and 512MB versions at very impressive prices.

Were the only UK etailor to have these in stock I believe and for the price these are an absolute bargain. Maybe soon our competitors will catch up.

yes you can but it will only use the 256mb not full 512 in crossfire mode.

I am talking about the PCI-Express versions, those are the ones in stock.

The AGP versions are due to arrive end of next week as long as everything remains on schedule.

I am led to believe that the sub £150 price bracket is where all the 'action' takes place, i.e its the biggest market!

[edit] I'm glad all those people with AGP systems get a chance to upgrade, wouldn't be too bad with an overclocked P4 (socket 478) but I imagine there are a lot of people with A64/AGp systems, they will get an even better bOOst!
