Just about to rma my HIS X1900XT ICEQ3 due to the fan starting to rattle. My concern is that the X1900 is out of production and a replacement X1900XT may not be sourced and I may be offered an inferior card. Has anybody recently sent theirs back and did you recieve the same model back or an alternative. As I type this the rattle has gone..........!!

Fan rattling sounds like a repair job to me. Doubt you will get a swap out for that. Hope you do though as they may have to upgrade you if they aint got any in stock.

Yeah they have to supply equal/or better performance, so chances are you'll get an x1950, but if your RMA'ing to HIS then be prepared for a long wait, a mate of mine waited over 7 weeks.

Christ thats a long time.

Well my fan stopped rattling when i put my card back into my PC at uni, so all is good again :D

Aye, mine rattles only abit now, probably worked out that its gonna get a kick if it continues :p

If I push the fan inwards, there is a fair bit of movement, the noise goes for a day or two but it always returns. I hope you have better luck. Did you do anything else to the fan other than just reintall the card?

Yep, sorry but you'll be in for a long wait. It took HIS over 13 weeks to send me a x1800xt replacement (apparently borked HIS cards are sent back to taiwan for repair  ). In the mean time I bought an iceQ3 x1900xt which also went belly up, lucky for me though, the borked x1900xt was still within the 28 day purchase period so I recieved a replacement direct from the retailer within a week, which I promply sold.

I've owned near enough every carnation of the iceq series but I'm affraid HIS are now joint number one (with xfx) on my **** list of g-card brands not to buy, simply becouse of their rma service sucks.

I don't meen to put the frighteners on you but if you're planning on rma'ing it, don't expect the turnaround to be any less than 8 weeks.

Good Luck.

I sent a web note explaining about the rattle and asked if they knew of anything I could do to stop it. I also mentioned that loads of people have had this problem. I got a reply this afternoon saying that the card should be RMA'd along with an RMA number. The card will have to go back to HIS :(

It does go when you push the fan in, but the rattles come back a day or so later. I've had the card for 6 weeks, I want it to last 18 months or so. Fitting an aftermarket fan defeats the object of buying the HIS over a generic card really. Why should I, I've already paid extra! And it invalidates the measly 1 year warranty. Just worried I'll get something back which isn't as good :(

All I did was went onto 'contact us' on the OCuk website and used the web note system. I just told them what was happening. The next day I got an RMA number from them. You cant go directly to HIS apparently.
